For Students in Grades 5 through 12

student at Duke Institute

Lander University's summer Science and Math programs, sponsored by a grant from Duke Energy, offers talented students in grades 5 through 12 a challenging educational experience, along with plenty of opportunities for fun and a taste of life at Lander. With new programs of interest being added each year, students get a balanced schedule of educational and recreational activities that will help broaden their academic skills and develop their creative abilities. In addition to the carefully designed hands-on activities, participants will interact with Lander faculty and students, tour the campus and enjoy events such as movies, games and swimming.

This summer experience is designed to provide a taste of life as a college student. Lander University faculty will conduct the programs and investigations using university classrooms and laboratories. Qualified and carefully selected counselors, many of them college students majoring in the area of the program, will supervise and assist with the activities.
