Invest in your financial education by bringing the stock market to life in your high school classroom. Join Lander University’s College of Business for a month-long stock market simulation activity.
Dates:
Simulation: January 20 - February 28
Conference: Week of March 10
How It Works:
The Stock Market Showdown will go live the week of January 20, and will close on February 28. Students will compete in groups established by their respective teachers. Each group will build and an investment portfolio throughout the simulation, and present a Strategy and Outcomes Presentation at their respective high schools. The winning team from each school will advance to the final round, and be invited to the Stock Market Showdown Conference, hosted at Lander University. There, they will compete for the chance to be named Grand Champions.
Win Big:
Lander will recognize the winning group from each participating school, as well as the Showdown Grand Champion during the conference. Members of each winning group will receive $500 scholarships to study in Lander University’s College of Business. Meanwhile, each Grand Champion will receive an additional $500, for a total scholarship package of $1,000 to Lander.
What’s Judged:
Each group’s Strategy and Outcomes presentation will be judged by teachers and/or school personnel at each high school. The presentation will be evaluated based on these criteria:
Winning groups from each school will advance to the Grand Championship, where they will compete at the Stock Market Showdown Conference. A panel of guest judges will crown the showdown’s Grand Champion.
