I am excited that you are interested in the College of Arts & Humanities. Our dynamic academic programs as well as our gallery, studios, recital halls, radio and TV stations, and computer labs enable students to be mentored by faculty. Our students write for our campus newspaper and literary journal, showcase art in our gallery and in Uptown Greenwood, and perform on campus and throughout South Carolina. Organizations need employees who are creative and have strong communication skills, so our alumni have careers in art, advertising, communications, design, education, music, and public relations as well as in areas of business and government service. We would love to tell you about exciting things happening at Lander University!
The College of Arts & Humanities is proudly accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and the National Association of Schools of Music. These accreditations ensure the highest standard of quality for our program offerings in Art + Design and Music.
The College of Arts & Humanities offers impressive facilities for learning, creating, and performing.

People are so welcoming here. I love the fact that you can get to know so many people and see them every day.
Media and Communication
I feel as if the whole music department truly cares about my success and wants to see me thrive within the program, and I couldn’t be more thankful for their guidance.
If you’ve ever expressed an interest in majoring in English to your friends and family, you’ve probably turned a few heads and raised an eyebrow or two. English majors are far too familiar with parents, grandparents and classmates wondering, “What do you do with a BA in English?”
For many people, work and play are opposites, but not for Lander University Professor of Art Doug McAbee.
The community is invited to join the Department of Art + Design for a reception and conversation with artist Jason Lindsey Thursday, Oct. 26, at 5 p.m.
