Wednesday, July 9, 2018 FALL semester bill will be available on line after 5:00 p.m.  To view your student bill, go to MyLander and sign in.  Under Bearcat Web Highlights, choose “Account Summary for Selected Term” and submit Fall 2018.  Press the submit button to access your Fall bill.  Payment options are available on line at the bottom of the “Account Summary for Selected Term” page.
Wednesday, August 15, 2018 Cancellation will occur at 5:01 p.m. for all registered students who have not accepted/validated charges for the FALL 2018 semester. You are not guaranteed the same class schedule if your classes are cancelled.
Monday, August 6, 2018 Bookstore purchases with financial aid will begin. The last day to purchase books with financial aid is August 24, 2018.
Thursday, August ​16, - Friday, August 24, 2018 Registration continues for returning students who had their class schedule canceled August 15, 2018 and for new and transfer students. All students who had their class schedule canceled August 15, 2018 due to not accepting/validating charges will be charged a $100 late fee to re-register. Students may pay the $100 Re-registration fee either online or in the Business Office.
Friday, August ​24, 2018 Cancellation will occur at 5:01 p.m. for students who register from August 16 through August 24, 2018 and did not accept/validate their Fall 2018 charges.

 

Fall 2018 Tuition Withdrawal Refund Dates

Students dropping all courses and withdrawing from the University should obtain the Official Withdrawal and/or Leave of Absence form from the Office of the Registrar Learning Center Room 109.  The student must obtain all signatures designated and return the form to the Office of the Registrar, Learning Center Room 109.   The last day to officially withdraw is the last day of classes.  Refunds are granted only in the event of a complete official withdrawal from Lander University according to the following schedule:

Other Fees and Expenses

 

Course Overload Fee

Students enrolled in 19 hours or more will pay an additional $150 per credit hour.

 

Emergency Management Non-Resident Fee

Non-resident students enrolled in Emergency Management Masters Degree Program will be assessed a $150 fee each semester.

 

Re-Registration Fee

Students whose classes were canceled and want to re-register will be charged $100.

 

Freshman Orientation Fee

Students attending freshman orientation will be required to pay a $120 fee that will be included as part of fall bills.

 

Applied Music Fee

(10 - 12 hours of private instruction)

Students majoring or minoring in music and taking Applied Music will be charged an additional $200 per semester for one hour applied lessons (MUSK, MUSN, MUSV:150, 151, 250, 251, 350, 351, 450, 451) plus normal fees.

Students majoring or minoring in music and taking Applied Music will be charged an additional $100 per semester for 30 minute applied lessons (MUSK, MUSN, MUSV: 152, 153, 154, 155, 252, 253, 254, 255, 352, 353, 354, 355, 452, 453, 454, 455) plus normal fees.

 

International Students

All students classified as international students will be required to participate in the Lander University International Student Insurance Program. No exceptions will be made to this policy. International students are required to purchase mandatory student medical insurance offered through an outside company. Insurance fees are:

  • Student Athlete - $1,566
  • Student Non-Athlete - $885

A one-time matriculation fee of $300 will be assessed for new and transferring international students.

 

Senior Citizens

Senior citizens may register for classes only after regular registration times on a space available basis at no cost.

 

Nursing Special Expenses

Special expenses for nursing students are approximately $500. For more detail, see the Nursing Student Handbook.

Return Check Charge

Charge for check returned by bank: $25

 

Housing Application Fee

A boarding student is required to pay a $150 non-refundable application fee per academic year.

 

Single Room

A student who requests single occupancy in a double room will be charged an extra one half the semester fee for residence hall involved per semester. (Subject to availability).

 

Textbooks

Normally allow between $500 - $600 per semester. For your convenience, the Bookstore accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express Credit Cards.

 

Refund Policy

No refunds or reduction of basic charges will be made due to a change in status (e.g. from full-time student to part-time student) after the last day to drop/add for the semester. No refunds will be made to part-time students for reduction of hours after the last day to drop/add for the semester. The date the student files written notice of withdrawal with the Registrar's Office is the date in determining refunds. Refunds will be determined according to the policy in the current catalog and will be processed within 30 days of date of withdrawal.
