B.S. in Sociology or
B.S. in Sociology with a Criminal Justice Emphasis

The core and main elective courses for both sociology and criminal justice are scheduled primarily on weekday evenings . Some courses offered in the psychology program may also count toward the sociology degrees, with the approval of an advisor. Students will be prepared for careers such as social case worker, parole/probation officer, law enforcement officer, social survey assistant, correctional officer, vocational guidance counselor, and human services counselor.

 
B.S. in Political Science with a Public Administration Emphasis or
B.S. in Political Science

The political science program focuses on the structure, process, and outcomes of politics and government.  The core and main elective courses for political science are scheduled primarily on weekday evenings .  Some courses offered in the sociology program may also count toward the political science degrees, with the approval of an advisor.  Students graduating with a political science degree will be prepared for careers in government service, politics and campaigning, legal practice, journalism, business, the ministry, military service, law enforcement, public relations, and service in public, quasi public, and private agencies.  Students may also choose to proceed to post-graduate professional study in political science, law, public administration or other related areas of study.

 
B.S. in Criminal Justice Management (online)

Lander University's Criminal Justice Management Degree Program is an online bachelor's degree program specifically offered to those who have an associate's degree, preferably in criminal justice, and who have two years of law enforcement experience and/or who are employed as an officer at the time of entering the program.  

 

RNBSN (online)

The BSN completion option is offered in an online format and features web based delivery that enables registered nurse students to attend class at home and at their convenience via the Internet. Graduates acquire professional level knowledge and skills to practice nursing in traditional and diverse settings and to enter graduate study in nursing and related fields. The BSN program at Lander University is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Students must contact the department of Nursing for further information.


M.Ed. in Montessori Education

Lander University is the only university in SC to offer a program of studies in Montessori Education. Earning the M.Ed. in Montessory Education qualifies graduates for South Carolina teacher certification at the master's level.

 

Degree completion and teaching placement of Lander University Montessori-prepared teachers is high.

 

Candidates for the M.Ed. in Montessori Education continue to work in Montessori classroom as part of their program of studies.

 

Candidates for the M.Ed. Montessori Education gain a support team that is knowledgeable, highly qualified, nationally recognized and sincerely concerned for their success.

 

-The Lander University Montessori program is fully accredited by the Montessori Accrediting Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), a USDE authorized accrediting agency.

 

-The Lander University M.Ed. program is the only master's program in the state leading to a credential from the American Montessori Society, the largest Montessori organization in the world.

 

Our Montessori teacher education programs for level ages 2 1/2 -6 and grades 1 - 3 are accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Commission for Teacher Education (MACTE). Classes for ages 2 1/2 - 6 are offered on Lander's Greenwood campus. Classes for grades 1 - 3 are offered at the University Center at Greenville.
