SUMMER PROGRAM – UNIVERSITY OF STIRLING
The summer academic program is an accelerated program for full-time, part-time, and visiting students, delivered during the summer months of July and August. Summer program units have the same content, contact hours and assessment arrangements as in a normal 15-week semester but by means of a more intensive timetable are delivered over a shorter period. The program is designed to incorporate a range of social and cultural activities and will give you the opportunity to travel and experience more of Scotland.
Seventeen courses from the areas of creative writing, history, international relations, philosophy & religion, environmental science, the cinema, and sports management are offered. Each course in the summer program is equivalent to 3 semester hour credits in the US system.
2009 PROGRAM DATES: Block 1: June 13 – July 11 and / or Block 2: July 11 - August 8 (two courses maximum per block).
APPROXIMATE COST FOR TUITION AND ROOM: $3450 for 2 courses or $6000 for 3 courses or $6825 for 4 courses. Figure about $800 for trans-Atlantic airfare. Books, food, miscellaneous supplies, and European travel are not included in these figures.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Your application and $200 deposit must be received by mid-April. A GPA of 3.0 and a letter of recommendation from a Lander faculty member is required.
