Police Chief Eddie Briggs
, University Police Chief
Employed with Lander since 2004 and in Law Enforcement since 1984, Police Chief Briggs previously served as a Lieutenant with the Greenwood City Police Dept. Briggs served as a Detective and Training Officer in that same unit. A certified Fire Arms Instructor, Driving Instructor and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Briggs has attended numerous training schools.
Employed with Lander since 1982, Angela Fulbright takes care of Student, Faculty and Staff I.D.'s, and parking permits. In addition to handling all secretarial duties for LUPD, Fulbright serves as the First Shift Communications Specialist.
Employed with Lander since 2007 and in Law Enforcement since 2000, Capt. Allen is a certified Law Enforcement officer through the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy. Capt. Allen previously served with the S.C. Department of Probation Pardon and Parole and the Abbeville County Sheriff's Department.
Jonathan Larsen, Security Specialist III
Employed with Lander since 2011. Jonathan has worked as a Resident Hall
Monitor prior to his current position. He is a U.S. Marine Corps combat
veteran and former U.S. Army National Guard officer. Jonathan is a
Graduate of Piedmont Technical College.
Captain Vernon Peppers, Supervisor over Uniform Patrol and Dispatch
Employed with Lander since 2011 and in Law Enforcement since 1999, Cap. Peppers has held previous job assignments with the Greenwood Police Department as a COPS (Community Orientated Policing Officers) officer, Warrant Officers, Detective, Uniform Patrol Lieutenant and Captain. Capt. Peppers has attended numerous training schools and hold numerous certifications. Capt. Peppers also is a United States Marine Corps veteran.
Lieutenant Dena Gossett, Shift Supervisor
Employed with Lander since 2010 and in Law Enforcement since 2008, Lt. Gossett is a certified Law Enforcement officer through the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy. Lt. Gossett has attended numerous training schools and holds numerous certifications. Lt. Gossett previously served with the Greenwood City Police. Lt. Gossett is a 2014 graduate of Lander University.
Lieutenant Roger Collins, Shift Supervisor
with Lander since 2012, Sgt. Collins is a certified Law Enforcement
Officer through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy since 1988.
Sgt. Collins previously worked and retired as a Corporal with the South
Carolina Highway Patrol and was stationed in Troop 2, Post C. Sgt.
Collins is certified as a Multidisciplinary Accident Investigator and
Reconstructionist, (MAIT) through Texas A&M and CJA. Sgt. Collins
has received numerous other certifications and training throughout his
Corporal Jeff Boyd, Uniformed Patrol Officer
Employed with Lander since 2011 and in Law Enforcement since 2010, Cpl. Boyd is a certified Law Enforcement officer through the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy. Cpl. Boyd previously served with the S.C. Department of Mental Health Public Safety Office at Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital. Cpl. Boyd retired from the US Air Force after 20 years of service.
Corporal Casey Goff, Uniformed Patrol Officer
Employed with Lander since 2012, Corporal Goff graduated from Newberry College in 2010 with a B.A. degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. She graduated from the Criminal Justice Academy in July of 2011. Before coming to Lander, Corporal Goff was an officer with the City of Newberry.
Corporal James Burke, Uniformed Patrol Officer
Employed with Lander since 2013. Previously served 4 years with the Greenwood, SC Police Department in uniform patrol. Cpl. graduated from the SC Criminal Justice Academy in 2010.
Corporal Devin Hodges, Uniform Patrol Officer
with Lander University Police Department since December 2014. Cpl. Hodges was
previously employed Laurens County Sheriffs Office and Abbeville County Sheriff’s
Office. He has been in law enforcement
since 2009. He graduated SCCJA as a
Class 1 officer in 2010. He hold other numerous training certificates
Corporal Franklan Highley, Uniform Patrol Officer
Employed with Lander since 2015, Cpl. Highley has
graduated from the South Carolina Department of Corrections Academy and worked
as a Corrections Officer with South Carolina Department of Correction. Cpl.
Highley then moved on to and worked for the Saluda County Detention Center and
graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy as a Detection
officer. He then moved on to later graduate for the South Caroline Criminal
Justice Academy and working as a Deputy for the Saluda County Sheriff’s
