Homecoming Week 2017 (Feb 6-11)

Alumni can get connected to classmates by visiting the Office of Alumni Affairs for a list of activities.

Whether you decide to form a team to compete, or simply observe the happenings, it's a great time to be a Bearcat! Activities listed below are open to students/faculty/staff. Everyone is invited to come out to watch these lively competitions & cheer them on in their quest to win points!

Monday, February 6

Spirit Day - Wear your LU gear!

Banner Reveal at 5 p.m. in the Grier Student Center's commons area. (competition)

Spirit Night begins at 5:30pm in Horne Arena. LU Vs. UNC Pembroke
       5:30 p.m.  Basketball (w)
              Halftime - Introduction of Homecoming Court (King)  (competition)

Tuesday, February 7

LU Softball Game- Begins at 2 p.m. in Dolny Stadium at the May Sports Complex. Wear your LU Spirit Gear and cheer on the Bearcats!

LU Baseball Game- Begins at 5 p.m. in Dolny Stadium at the May Sports Complex. Wear your LU Spirit Gear and cheer on the Bearcats as they face Newberry.

"Survey Says!" game show begins at 8 p.m. in Horne Arena. (competition)

Wednesday, February 8

"Bearcats Build"  - 1 p.m. at construction site.
   Students, faculty, staff, alumni, community invited to a kick-off Lander's
   Habitat for Humanity project - Celebration begins at 1 p.m. on the construction site,
   located on the grassy area in front of Lide Apartments on Willson Street. Volunteers
   will start building the house that afternoon.  Volunteer Sign-up Form to come soon!

LU Tennis Match - Begins at 2 p.m. at the May Sports Complex. Wear your LU Spirit Gear and cheer on the Bearcats as they face Newberry.

"Bearcat Showcase" at 9 p.m. in Horne Arena.  Teams show-off a wide array of talent during this evening activity. Everyone is invited to come watch & enjoy the show! (competition)

Thursday, February 9

Medallion Search from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on-campus in the the city of Greenwood. (competition)

Friday, February 10

Soapbox Car Judging/Parade begins at 4:00pm in PEES Circle (competition)

Soapbox Race begins at 4:30 p.m. (immediately after the judging) on Willson Street as customized soapbox cars speed down the hill.  Everyone is invited to come out to watch this fun activity!  (competition)

Band with Bonfire - begins at 7 p.m. on the lawn of New Residence Hall.

Saturday, February 11 is Homecoming Day!

Habitat 5K begins at 9 a.m. on Willson Street. Registration to open soon.

Tailgating begins at 11 a.m. on the front Lawn.

Basketball (w) begins at 1:30pm in Horne Arena.
   Homecoming Court (King) is presented during half-time. Winner announced.

Basketball (m) begins at 3:30pm in Horne Arena. 
  Homecoming Court (Queen) is presented during half-time.  Winner announced.


Who can participate in Homecoming competitions?
ALL Lander students, faculty and staff members including student clubs, organizations and any "group" or "team" which is formed solely for the purpose of competing in a Homecoming activity.

Any student, faculty or staff at Lander University, including student clubs, organizations and groups that are formed just for competitions.
