Viewing diversity and inclusion as a leadership function is vital for well-functioning communities. Years of experience have taught us that diverse, inclusive communities don't just happen. Yet, as we look to the future, we recognize that huge demographic shifts are happening that impact society, requiring strategic diversity and intentional inclusion be practiced at every level by each individual. Learning how to become effective allies of those we dwell among requires operating as intentional inclusionist. Dr. Nika White, the author of The Intentional Inclusionist, will share principles for becoming an inclusion-minded leader. The book inspired by philosophies of leadership, and inclusion contains principles to help individuals become more intentional in how diversity and inclusion is understood and practiced at every level. In this presentation, Dr. Nika White will help participants understand the essentials of intentional inclusion leadership as a paramount to thriving and prosperous communities. Participants will engage in micro-level activities and self-reflective guided conversations on topics related to the overall value and management of human difference. Specifically, this experiential learning session helps leaders to understand the power of intentions and ways to model and create the inclusion in our communities that we wish to see.
