Lander schedules Scholastic Aptitude Test prep course

June 24, 2015

Lander University will offer a special course beginning July 17 and continuing through August 7 for high school students who plan to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test scheduled for next fall.

The program is called SAT PRO. It will be taught on the Lander campus by Dr. Lillian Craton, associate professor of English and director of Lander’s Honors College, who will be the reading and writing instructor, and Gina Dunn, chair of Lander’s Department of Mathematics and Computing, who will teach the mathematics section.

SAT PRO is a small-group, fast-paced preparation course. Enrollment will be limited to 15 students, allowing for concentration on the skills most needed to take the test.

The focus will be on test-taking strategies covering key mathematics, critical reading and writing concepts that are included on the SAT. The course will also assist students to develop a targeted approach for each question.

The fee is $180 and covers the cost of a book, 24 hours of instruction and four practice tests. To register or for more information, call Lander’s Department of Continuing Education at 864-388-8426. Information about SAT PRO and registration is also available on the Lander website, Because of the limitation on class size, registration is encouraged well before July 17.
