Student Testimonials

Lander offers the ideal learning environment because of the small setting students find themselves in, and because of the helpful faculty and staff. As an athletic training major, Lander has allowed me to grow over the few short years I have been with the university by allowing me the clinical experiences I gain working with the Lander sports team, as well as partnering high schools in the local area. Through these experiences I feel that Lander has provided me a quality undergraduate degree that will help advance my growth both as a professional and as a person.

Since I was in middle school I have dreamed of becoming a physical education teacher. When I visited Lander University I knew it was the perfect fit for me. I chose Lander because it offers an exceptional physical education program, with top-of-the-line professors and great facilities for learning. Lander has so much to offer to students: a beautiful campus, helpful professors and it is located in the perfect college town. As a physical education major I have performed my clinicals in the Greenwood public schools. This has given me the opportunity to gain skills and hands-on experience that has helped me on my journey to become an educator. I am a Teaching Fellow at Lander and a member of the leadership team for the Physical Education and Exercise Science Club. Being involved in these organizations has encouraged me to become a more disciplined student, a stronger leader and a more confident individual. Upon graduating I know that I will be more than prepared as an educator and that is because of the Physical Education Department at Lander University.

I chose Lander because of its small size and low student-to-faculty ratio. The faculty and staff have enhanced my experience at Lander by making themselves available throughout the day, being eager to answer any questions I may have, and by striving to help me be successful in everything I do. As an exercise science pre-occupational therapy major, I have been given the opportunity to visit several allied health offices in Greenwood and learn more about my future career path. At Lander I serve as a Resident Assistant and president of Baptist Collegiate Ministries. I am a member of both the Blue Key and Alpha Chi honor societies and I am involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the PEES Club. I enjoy being a part of each of these organizations because they allow me to experience the diversity that can be found on this campus and challenge me to step outside of my comfort zone.
