Student Testimonials

I’m from Saluda and I’ve always enjoyed being in Greenwood. I’ve watched Greenwood evolve and transition into the kind of city that has a lot of potential for future growth. I chose Lander for this reason because, for me, Lander is the heart of Greenwood and its growth. Yet, it is Lander’s faculty who have enriched my entire experience at the university and in the city. The professors in political science are great counselors who truly care about the ambitions of their students. For the past three years, they have educated me and provided me with the knowledge and skills that I’ll need to accomplish my dreams. Participating in the Political Science Association (PSA) at Lander has been great; it has brought me closer to Lander faculty, students and the Greenwood community. Attending Lander University has shaped me into the strong individual that I’ve always wanted to be.
Throughout my childhood, my parents have always tried to instill within me the importance of education. Here at Lander, I have not only been afforded a great education, but also great experiences. I love the fact that I have gotten to know and establish great relationships with my professors and fellow classmates both inside and outside of the classroom. In establishing these relationships, I have had the opportunity to become active in several campus organizations. I have always wanted to help people, and I feel that upon graduating from Lander, I will have the required tools to positively impact people’s lives. I am certain that the education and experiences that I have received here at Lander will help me to achieve my ultimate goal; to make a difference within society, and to make the world a better place for all of mankind.
My experience as a sociology major here at lander has truly brightened the world around me. I see the world in different ways than I had ever before. Sociology has really taught me so much. The professors are great here at Lander. I feel like if there is ever a problem they are easy to get in touch with and are always helpful. There are a lot of activities to get involved with here at Lander, and I have done a few. There always fun and have brought a lot of joy into my life. Overall my experience here at Lander has been great and I wouldn't change anything.
I'm going into my third year and I have very much enjoyed being a student here at Lander University. Within my department, I've been offered scholarships and numerous internship opportunities that included internships at the S.C. State House and on Capital Hill in Washington D.C. The professors in the department take a special interest in the learning of each political science major and do their absolute best to guide us toward the best path for success. One thing I value about each is that they are always available to speak with in their office; something I needed much more of my freshmen year. The department does a fantastic job at representing this university and I'm honored I could be a part of it.
