Assistant/Associate Professor of Political Science and Homeland Security
Lander University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor to begin in August 2017. A doctorate in political science or public administration is required by time of appointment. The candidate will be expected to teach introductory and advanced undergraduate public administration and political science classes and offer courses in homeland security. The ability to coordinate the M.S. in Emergency Management is preferred. The candidate will be expected to advise students, provide university service, and engage in research and professional activities.
Lander’s strategic plan aims to grow the areas of criminal justice, government (public) administration, homeland security, and emergency management. Lander offers an M.S. in Emergency Management, B.S. in political science, and undergraduate emphases in both public administration and criminal justice. A major in criminal justice and a minor in homeland security are planned.
Located in the upstate region of South Carolina, Lander is a public comprehensive university committed to teaching in a liberal arts environment and emphasizing experiential learning.
