Cas Caulder is a graphic design major at Lander University who has used his talents and the concepts he has learned in the classroom to come out on top in several design competition events.

Caulder, a first-semester senior from Chesterfield, submitted the winning design for Greenwood Lander Performing Arts' new logo. The GLPA Board of Directors presented him with a $100 stipend to say thanks for the amount of time and effort he put into coming up with the winning design, which will be used on GLPA's advertising and promotional materials beginning this year.

Last fall, he won the poster design competition for the Lander theatre production, "Golden Samurai," and followed that up this spring with a winning design for the "Serious Nonsense" concert that was staged by two Lander musical ensembles.

Caulder also designed a T-shirt that was chosen from among the designs submitted by the 13 schools in five states that make up the Peach Belt conference.

And, in the Lander student art show, he won a merit award for graphic design.
