    The week of Jan. 30 - Feb. 3 is Study Abroad Week at Lander University and throughout the week students will have opportunities to learn more about Lander's international programs and talk with others who have studied at foreign universities.     Master of Arts in Teaching students at Lander University model the "soundsuits" they created for assistant professor of art Doug McAbee. The students were given the problem of creating a suit or an article of clothing that would create sound when worn.

  • Exhibition Showcases Artwork of MAT Graduates

    Graduates of Lander University’s Master of Arts in Teaching in art education program pose outside Lander’s Monsanto Gallery during the opening reception of their graduate exhibition. The mosaics, drawings, sculptures, paintings, photography and other artwork created by the graduates will be on display through Thursday, July 28. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. -3 p.m., Monday-Thursday.

  • McAbee Wins Award in National Art Show

    “Ethel’s Daughter,” a hollow, hand-formed, welded steel sculpture by Lander University assistant professor of art Doug McAbee, won an Honorable Mention award last month at the 6th Annual National Outdoor Sculpture Competition at North Charleston’s Riverfront Park.

  • University honors top Arts & Humanities scholars at Academic Awards ceremony

    More than 50 Lander University students were honored recently for their scholastic accomplishments during the 2010-2011 academic year, receiving the top discipline and special awards from the university's four academic colleges. The awards were presented during Lander's annual Academic and Student Life Awards Ceremony.
