    On April 26, Lander hosted a reception for the annual senior arts exhibition. Mediums included in the 43-piece exhibition, entitled “Final Breadth,” were sculpture, ceramics, drawing, woodcarving, pen and ink, painting on canvas and paper, photography and graphic design.

  • Six students take top honors at annual art exhibit

    Nearly 200 art patrons showed up on Feb. 1 to see two seniors, two sophomores, one junior and a freshman win top honors at Lander University’s annual Juried Student Exhibition. The public exhibit, run by the College of Arts & Humanities since the mid-1970s, featured 70 crafted pieces in the Monsanto Art Gallery from all levels of arts students.

  • Art reception kicks off new exhibit by national artist

    A crowd of nearly 70 showed up on Oct. 16 at a reception to see drawer-artist Jillian Dickson debut a brand new exhibit at Lander University’s Monsanto Gallery. Dickson’s five-week exhibit, titled “The Collective Mine,” runs through Nov. 20 and is considered an artistic coup for Lander’s College of Arts & Humanities.

  • Lander seniors to be honored at year’s last art show

    Art lovers of all kinds are expected to show up April 20 for the reception of Lander University’s annual senior arts exhibition. The reception is open to the public from 5-7 p.m. at the Monsanto Art Gallery, and the 70-plus-piece exhibition, entitled “Mindful Moments,” will run through May 6 and serve as a grand send-off for all 16 graduating arts students.

  • Two Lander students place in 2017 PBC Art Exhibition

    Lander University senior Sammantha Bailey and freshman Stacie Lazo took two of the top honors in the third annual 2017 Peach Belt Conference Arts Exhibition. The virtual exhibition, open to all students from the PBC’s eight schools, featured 73 pieces that included ceramics, digital art, drawing, installation, painting, printmaking, public art and sculpture.

  • “Meraki” Exhibition Showcases Lander Student Artwork

    Lander University students who recently traveled to Greece and Italy are showcasing their original works of art inspired by their journey in an exhibition titled “Meraki.” The exhibition is on display at the Greenwood Art Center (120 Main St.) through Jan. 22. The community is encouraged to attend a closing reception on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 5-7 p.m. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served.
