Registration Errors
Bearcat Web Registration Error Messages
This information is also available by clicking HELP on the “Add or Drop Classes”
or “Look Up Classes” pages in Bearcat Web.
- CLASS RESTRICTION: Classification restriction; such as Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior.
- CLOSED SECTION: Course enrollment limit has been reached.
- LINK ERROR XX Required: You must select a lecture and lab section at the same time.
- MAJOR RESTRICTION: Course is restricted to students majoring in a specific major(s).
- PREQ and TEST SCORE ERROR: Prerequisite, Co-requisite or Test Score requirement has not been
met.
- TIME CONFLICT WITH (CRN #): The course chosen has a time conflict with the CRN# listed.
- Special Approval: You will be directed to a specific individual to obtain approval.
- Graduate Level Students: If you wish to enroll in an undergraduate level course, you must contact the Office of the Registrar (864-388-8398) for registration assistance.
OVERRIDE APPROVAL: If you wish to gain an override approval for any of the restrictions
above, you must contact the department chair of the course (for “Special Approval”, you will be
directed to the appropriate person). If the override approval is given, you may view the
approval in Bearcat Web by choosing “Registration Status” on the “Registration” page. If the
override is for a “CLOSED SECTION”, you will need to go to the “Add or Drop Classes” page within “
Registration”, enter the CRN, Course Reference Number, in the provided box under “Add Classes
Worksheet” and then click “Submit Changes”.
