Department of Psychology
Programs of Study
So you want to understand what makes people tick - why we think what we think, feel what we feel, do what we do? Our psychology curriculum, based on standards set by the American Psychological Association, is designed to give you a solid and complete view of the science of psychology - its history, methods, and research techniques.
When asked why they want to major in psychology, most students respond, "Because they want to help people." While psychology is certainly a helping profession, in order to help others you must also be grounded in the science of psychology. You must be able to approach and gather information, conceptualize problems, and arrive at reasonable conclusions about what is needed to change problematic behavior. All of our psychology programs provide students with these skills and prepare them for rewarding careers in a variety of settings.
