Lander University, a public state-supported institution in South Carolina, seeks to fill a full-time, nine-month (academic year, summer employment possible), tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in Exercise Science, to begin in August of 2010.
Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate Exercise Science-related courses (exercise physiology, research methods, nutrition and performance, physiology of aging, exercise testing and prescription, wellness, lifetime activity classes) based on academic skills and departmental need, advise students, supervise internships, engage in scholarship and service to the department, university and the community.
Required: Earned doctorate at time of appointment in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science or related area (ABD’s will be considered at the instructor level until completion of the degree.)
Preferred: Teaching experience at the university level, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certification.
