Student Clubs and Activities
In addition to Lander's broad array of organizations, the Department of Political and Social Sciences offers students majoring in sociology or political science a variety of enriching co-curricular experiences.
CLUBS
Political Science Association
Advisor: Dr. Kim Richburg
In 2008-09, the PSA sponsored several events including watching a DVD with former Secretaries of State, hosting a movie night, volunteering with the Peace Studies Conference and participating in Lander Homecoming activities such as the Family Feud and Soapbox Derby.
Sociology Club
Advisor: Professor Linda Carson
In 2008-09, the Sociology Club sponsored several films, a quiz bowl game, Homecoming activities, and was involved in many volunteer service activities throughout the year.
College Republicans
Advisor: Professor Jim Kier
In 2008-09 some of the College Republicans' activities included
a voter registration drive and holding an election day party.

Alpha Kappa Delta - Intl. Sociology Honor Society
Advisor: Dr. Dan Harrison
Tiffany T. Hammett, Amanda Marie Richardson, Tamara N. Mangle, Patricia T. Mann, and Zackary M. Freeman were inducted into AKD in April 2009.
Pi Sigma Alpha - National Political Science Honor Society
Advisor: Dr. Kim Richburg
Anni Pajunen, Thomas Cooper Tinsley, and Ana Luiza Zaia were inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha in April 2009.
