Lander Presents Emerging Keyboard Artist Recital on October 13

Emerging Keyboard Artists Lander University’s Department of Music presents the 14th Annual Emerging Keyboard Artist Recital on Thursday, October 13. The concert takes place at 8 p.m. in Lander’s Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium featuring performances by pianists Keer Wang and Zehao Bai.

Keer “CoCo” Wang, of China, began piano at the age of five and has studied under prominent teachers in China and the U.S. She has won numerous competitions, including first prize at the National Dance, Vocal, and Instrumental Competition in Beijing, and grand prize in the 7th National KAWAI Piano Competition. Wang is finishing her undergraduate study at the University of South Carolina while performing recitals in this country and abroad.

Zehao “Nick” Bai began studying piano at the age of three, making his public debut at age 14 in the City Hall of Wuhai, China. Bai has performed extensively in piano festivals across Europe, China and the U.S. He won first prize in the Golden Age Piano Competition, and silver medal in the Haiman Young Artist Piano Competition. Bai is currently studying piano at the University of South Carolina.

Wang and Bai will perform works by Chopin, Bach, Liszt, Shchedrin, and Stravinsky. Admission is free and open to the public. The event is FALS-approved for Lander students.
