Lander schedules SAT prep course for February, 2016

November 03, 2015

Registrations are being accepted by Lander University for a course of study to prepare high school students to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Classes, which will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 2, include 15 hours of instruction and two practice tests.

SAT DOCTOR instructors will concentrate on test-taking strategies and a review of key mathematics, and critical reading and writing concepts that are included on the exam. As part of the course, the instructors will discuss the number of times students should take the SAT, and how to maximize their overall scores before college application deadlines.

The instructors are Lillian Craton, associate professor of English at Lander, and director of Lander’s Honors College; and Gina Dunn, education specialist and chair of Lander’s Department of Mathematics and Computing. Both have significant experience teaching SAT preparation classes.

The SAT DOCTOR fee is $85, which pays for tuition, an SAT book and other course materials for students to keep.

Detailed information, including registration and dates for each class, is available at, or by calling Lander’s Continuing Education office at 864-388-8426.
