Registrations Are Being Accepted for Lander's SAT Preparation Course

October 23, 2014

Registrations are being accepted for a course sponsored by Lander University’s Continuing Education office to prepare high school students to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Classes will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 3.

SAT DOCTOR is structured to allow the instructors to concentrate on the special skills individual students will need. The focus will be on test-taking strategies and will also review key mathematics, critical reading and writing concepts that are included on the exam. The course will include 15 hours of classroom instruction and two graded, full-length practice tests.

The instructors are Lillian Craton, associate professor of English at Lander, and director of the university’s Honors College; and Gina Dunn, chair of Lander’s Department of Mathematics and Computing. Both have significant experience teaching SAT preparation classes.

The SAT DOCTOR fee is $85, which pays for tuition, an SAT book and other materials for students to keep.

More information about the course, including registration and dates for each class, is available at, or by calling Lander’s Continuing Education office at 864-388-8426.
