June 17, 2014
Openings are still available for a class sponsored by Lander University’s Continuing Education office to prepare high school students to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The class will begin on Monday, July 14.

SAT PRO is a small group, fast-paced course whose enrollment is limited to 15 students to allow the instructors to concentrate on the special skills individual students will need. The focus will be on test-taking strategies and will also review key mathematics, critical reading and writing concepts that are included on the exam. It will include 12 strategy sessions and four practice tests.

The instructors are Lillian Craton, associate professor of English at Lander, and director of the university’s Honors College; and Gina Dunn, chair of Lander’s Department of Mathematics and Computing. Both have significant experience teaching SAT preparation classes.

The SAT PRO fee is $180 and pays for a book, 24 hours of instruction and practice exams.

Students may register for the program online at More information is available by calling the Lander Continuing Education office at 864-388-8426.
