Assistant Professor of Theatre

 

Lander University, a public comprehensive university in the upstate region of South Carolina, seeks an assistant professor to teach theatre.   Tenure track.   The starting date is August, 2009.
 
Position:  Assistant Professor of Mass Communication and Theatre
 
Required:  MFA or Ph.D. in Theatre.   This person is expected to have at least an MFA in Theatre and extensive experience in the field of directing, technical direction, and design.
 
Responsibilities:  The candidate must be able to teach a variety of theatre courses including playwriting, directing, stagecraft and design. This person will also be responsible for the lighting and set designs of one or two productions a semester and will have the opportunity to direct. Applicants must have ability to use computer technology to support teaching and scholarship.
