Campus Safety

The safety of Lander’s students, faculty, staff and visitors is a top priority at the university. In addition to a 24-hour, certified police force, Lander has multiple safety systems and emergency procedures in place to help protect those on campus each day.

Human Resources

Lander provides a 24-hour, certified police force to protect those on campus and enforce federal, state and local laws, as well as Lander rules and regulations. Officers patrol campus via car, golf cart and on foot, working diligently to develop partnerships with students, faculty and staff in an effort to increase awareness and a positive exchange of information.

Campus Safety

Along with a loud-speaker siren that can quickly broadcast emergency messages to campus, Lander has emergency telephones – wired with buttons that instantly connect students with University Police – located near academic, residential, recreational and parking areas. Additionally, the Office of Student Affairs and Lander Police conduct safety programs throughout the year and provide helpful resources to raise awareness of good safety habits.

Lander Line -

The Lander Line shuttle service is available seven days a week, making it easier for Lander University students to travel safely from campus to Uptown Greenwood and other nearby areas.

Bearcat Shuttle

Lander’s shuttle bus travels a route connecting Bearcat Village with the main campus. The shuttle offers free, round-trip transportation on a convenient half-hour schedule during daytime hours when classes and activities are in session. Find a detailed schedule and drop-off/pick-up locations here.

Emergency Preparedness

The university has a number of emergency procedures and operational guidelines in place to help protect the well-being of those on campus during a variety of emergency scenarios.
