Welcome to
Lander University and the Larry A. Jackson Library. This web
site is designed to help you locate the services and resources you need to be academically
successful. Most of these resources and services are available to Lander faculty and students
and staff regardless of whether they are in the library building, in a residence hall or
office, or at home – in fact anywhere in the world.
The library staff is here to support the information needs of the Lander
community and looks forward to working with all of you.
Librarians are always available to answer questions and direct you to
the resources you need for your coursework. If you would like to e-mail a reference question
to us, you can use the new
Ask A Librarian service located in the navigation menu to
the left.
Our Ask a Librarian IM service has been updated! Now you are no longer
required to have an IM account to use this service. If you already have an account created,
you can still use AOL Instant Messenger or Yahoo! messenger to get in contact with us. The
screename is
landerlibrarian, add us to your buddy list! The hours
are Monday, Thursday 9am to 6pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 9am-12pm and 6pm-10pm(9pm for the summer),
and Friday 9am-5pm.
For your convenience, there are 29 computers located on the main floor of the library for
searching the online catalog and the electronic resources. These computers also have
Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office programs on them. There is a Java City coffee shop
that is available for the convenience of the library patrons.
