Banding together: S.C. Region II Honor Bands gather on campus
Young and talented musicians descended on Lander University’s campus for the third year in a row to be part of the Region II Honor Bands Concert and Clinic, Feb. 22-23. Hosted by Lander, the S.C. Band Directors Association Region II band clinic combines the talents of students from nearly 60 middle and high schools in the western region of South Carolina.

Nursing students, faculty raising funds to support student battling illness
As tenets of the nursing profession, compassion and care are two of the most important qualities nurses have to soothe and comfort their patients every day. And now, students in Lander University’s Department of Nursing are using those same qualities to offer support for a fellow classmate facing recovery from a serious illness.

It's more than a breeze: Wind Ensemble blows onto the stage
Of late Lander University has enjoyed visits by groups such as the Dallas Brass and members of the National Symphony Orchestra. Accompanying those visits have been opportunities for Lander students, along with community high school students, to receive instruction from practicing musical masters. These interactions have also provided young musicians a glimpse into the college performance experience. One upcoming Lander concert will go the distance to continue this valued and experiential outreach.

Rep. Adam Taylor named as vice president for Advancement
S.C. Representative Adam Taylor of Laurens has been named vice president for University Advancement at Lander University, effective July 1.
