Reporting Problems

Faculty & Staff:

The ITS Help Desk is located in Genesis Hall and staffed during normal business hours (M-F 8:00am-5:00pm).  Please call our help desk at (864)388-8234 (ext. 8234 on campus) for technical assistance with the following:

  • Email Accounts
  • Banner Access (student records and administrative software)
  • PC Setup (new and existing computers)
  • PC Repair
  • SMART Classroom Issues 
  • Software Training (Office 2007 FAQ)
  • Virus Alerts and Infections
  • Web Site Publishing and Training

You are welcome to drop by the ITS Help Desk during business hours for assistance with your Lander-issued laptop or tablet PC. No appointment is necessary.

 

To report network/Internet outages after normal business hours, please call University Police at (864) 388-8222 (ext. 8222 on campus).

 

Submit an on-line work request:

You can also submit a work request for a technology-related problem via Email by clicking hereNote that clicking this link will generate a new Email message from your Email client (Outlook for Lander Faculty and Staff). If you are off-campus and not connected to the Lander network or do not have your Outlook mail box open, you can send an Email from your Microsoft Outlook Web Access (webmail) account to  ticket@lander.edu. Please be specific about the problem you are having (list any error messages, programs affected, etc...) and be sure to include your full name, office and/or room number and a telephone number where you can be reached. If you have a screenshot of an error message or another document that you would like to include with your Work Order request, you may attach it to your Email.

 

Students:

TRACS Student Laptop Help Desk:

The Technology Resource Assistance Center for Students provides assistance for student laptops and network connections in the residence halls. TRACS is located on the second floor of Laura Lander Hall (the building with the bell tower) in room LL 202B and is open from 9:00am - 5:00pm M-F. You can reach TRACS at (864) 388-8171. Gateway Warranty Repair (Student Laptop Program):

The Warranty Repair Center is located on the second floor of Laura Lander Hall and serves as a drop-off point for Gateway warranty service.  You must have an authorized work ticket before visiting the Warranty Repair Center.  To report a problem or request repair, please contact the ITS Help Desk at ext. 8234 or submit an on-line work request using the link above.

 

Students - Reporting Network Connectivity Problems:

  • Verify all connections are made correctly per instructions referenced for the appropriate Residence Hall.
  • Report all problems concerning network access to ITS by calling (864)388-8151.  The staff there will be able to assist you.
  • If ITS personnel need to come to the residence hall  room to resolve a connection problem, this will be done on Monday through Thursday between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:30 pm and Fridays between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00 pm.  The individual experiencing connection problems must be present at the time ITS personnel are scheduled to be there.
