2008 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
Lander University will observe 2008 state holidays as follows:

Christmas holidays will be observed December 22, 2008 - January 2, 2009. New Year's Day, Thursday, January 1, 2009, will be observed on Thursday, January 1, 2009.

The Governor is empowered to declare Christmas Eve of each year a holiday for State employees. This will be announced as it happens; and if declared, will be observed on January 2, 2009.

Compensatory holidays must be taken within one year of the specified holiday.
*Since the University will be closed two days for Spring Break and two extra days at Christmas, those days, which are not holidays, must be accounted for by employees. Therefore, employees may choose to take annual leave, compensatory time, or make-up time for those days.
NOTE: Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Employees are encouraged to vote. A reasonable time, as agreed upon by the supervisor, is permitted for voting, not to exceed two hours.
