National Symphony Orchestra's 2008 American Residencies in South Carolina
The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing
Arts accepted the South Carolina Arts Commission's invitation to make South
Carolina the site of the NSO 2008 American Residency.
Greenwood-Lander Performing Arts was honored to host members of the
National Symphony Orchestra for numerous events on
February 10 -11, 2008 at Lander University Cultural Center.

Chamber Benefit Concert
Hundreds of members of the Greenwood community and the surrounding area enjoyed an outstanding
performance given by these reknowned musicians from the National Symphony:
Toshiko Kohno, principal flute
Lamber Orkis, principal keyboard
David Hardy, cello
The performance included works by Bach, Reinecke,
Beethoven, and Prokofiev.
Proceeds and donations from this event assisted in the Revitilization Project of
Lander University Cultural Center Auditorium & support the GLPA/NSO Outreach Program.
This special performance was partially funded by
