Let’s face it – financing a college education these days is a challenge for nearly
everyone. The Office of Financial Aid is committed to helping students and families
meet that challenge. For most, investment in an education at Lander University will require
applying for financial aid - and we're here to help you!
We offer a number of ways to assist you in meeting the needs associated with the cost of
obtaining a college education. We will gladly help you with the completion of the various
forms and applications required to apply for federal and state financial aid and other
financial aid programs.

SPECIAL Dates and Deadlines:

Mid-December - Incoming freshmen who have been admitted are automatically
considered for
Lander Academic Scholarships
. Students are encouraged to complete their application for admission by mid-December as
awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis and funding is limited.

January 1 - First day you can complete the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid
(
FAFSA
) for the coming Fall/Spring award year.

March 31 - Priority Date for Lander to receive FAFSA for consideration of
limited federal and state funding.

April 1 - Summer School Application Deadline to have funds ready by billing due
date.

Mid-April - Financial aid award packages created for new students who have
completed the FAFSA and all requirements posted on the Bearcat Web.

Late June/Early July - Financial aid award packages created for continuing
students who have completed the FAFSA and all requirements posted on the Bearcat Web.

July 15 - Deadline for transfer students to be accepted for admissions and
all final transcripts submitted to the Office of Admissions in order to be considered for
Lander Transfer Scholarships
.

August 1 - Deadline to have accurate FAFSA and all requested documents to the
Office of Financial Aid to ensure aid available for fall bills.
