  • Lander University announces Fall 2017 graduates

    Lander University conferred bachelor and master degrees upon 167 students during the university’s 156th commencement ceremony on December 16. Ironman triathlete, attorney, and motivational speaker Jay Hewitt delivered the keynote address during the formal program held inside Finis Horne Arena.

  • 200 Students Receive Degrees During Lander University’s 156th Commencement

    Nearly 200 graduates received their degrees on Saturday, Dec. 16, during Lander University’s 156th commencement. During the keynote address, Ironman triathlete, attorney and motivational speaker Jay Hewitt congratulated the graduates on “reaching the finish line,” but urged them to “look forward rather than looking back.”

    Dignitaries converged on the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium on Saturday, Dec. 9, to pay tribute to Dr. Larry A. Jackson, ninth president of Lander University, who died Nov. 7 at the age of 92.

  • Lander readies for Fall 2017 Commencement

    Ironman triathlete and lawyer Jay Hewitt will give the keynote address when Lander University conducts its Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 16. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. in Finis Horne Arena. All guests, including children, must have a ticket to enter the arena.
  • Lander Police Officers Commended for their Service

    Rep. John McCravy, III of House District 13 recently awarded certificates of Commendation to Police Chief Eddie Briggs, Lieutenant Roger Collins and Corporal Jim Black. All serve on the police force of Lander University.
