  • Lander Media Specialist Named to National Board of College Broadcasters

    Lander University broadcast and emerging media specialist Paul Crutcher has been nominated to serve as interim secretary for College Broadcasters, Inc. (CBI). Crutcher joins the nine-member board as a voting member. In his position, he’ll be on the front lines as he helps the more than 500-member college radio stations throughout the U.S.
  • Makins Joins Lander Board of Trustees

    Dr. Peggy Makins was recently introduced as the newest member of the Lander University Board of Trustees. Gov. Nikki Haley appointed Makins to fill the seat vacated by Mamie Nicholson, who has joined the Self Regional Healthcare Board of Trustees.

  • Andrews Family Moves Into First House Built

    Christmas came early for Wendi Andrews and her children, Miracle and Chance, when they were handed the keys to the first house built by the Lander University chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Andrews, speaking during the Sunday, Dec. 11, dedication service, called the opportunity to own her own home “a dream come true.”
  • Lander Student Tripp Guinn Steals Show at CIS Showcase

    Software development major Tripp Guinn stole the show at Lander University’s 2nd Annual Computer Information Systems Showcase. Guinn received a plaque from David Cline, owner of Piedmont Contract Manufacturing Group, “in recognition of outstanding professional service in the preparation and the launching of the company’s new interactive website.”
  • Lander Adds New College, Dean With Strategic Restructuring Of Four University Departments

    Lander University is taking a big step toward the future with a restructuring that will lead to the addition of a new college and appointment of its dean. The new College of Behavioral and Social Sciences will consist of four current academic departments: History and Philosophy, Political and Social Sciences, Psychological Science, and Military Science/Army ROTC.
  • More than 200 students receive degrees at Lander University’s 154th commencement

    Nearly 2,000 people packed Finis Horne Arena on Dec. 14, 2016, to see 222 graduates receive degrees at Lander University’s 154th commencement. Representing the fall class were students from China, Germany, Canada, South Korea and British Virgin Islands – and nine U.S. states including Florida, Illinois and Ohio.
