    Lander University senior Sammantha Bailey and freshman Stacie Lazo took two of the top honors in the third annual 2017 Peach Belt Conference Arts Exhibition. The virtual exhibition, open to all students from the PBC’s eight schools, featured 73 pieces that included ceramics, digital art, drawing, installation, painting, printmaking, public art and sculpture.

    Filmmakers, let one of Hollywood’s top screenwriters write for you. Chris Columbus, Bob Gale and Steven E. de Souza have written legendary films including Back to the Future, Die Hard, 48 Hours and others. This spring they’ve written lines specifically for entrants in Lander University’s 2WK Short Film Competition.

  • Lander selected as official site for telescopic images of solar eclipse

    Lander University will be in a prime spot for viewing and recording the next solar eclipse, expected to occur across the continental U.S. on Aug. 21, 2017. Through a national research experiment known as Citizen CATE – Continental America Telescopic Eclipse – Lander is one of five university sites in South Carolina selected to be an official observation point.
  • Strickland recognized as scholarship winner by Greenwood Woman’s Club

    Lander University junior Lauren Strickland is this year’s recipient of a $2,140 scholarship, funded annually by the Greenwood Woman’s Club. Strickland, an early childhood education major, was chosen by The Lander Foundation from multiple candidates who met the selection criteria. She was recognized March 8 by the Woman’s Club at its ninth annual fashion show and luncheon.

    Lander University announces the appointment of Brian Hamm to the position of assistant vice president for Enrollment and Student Success. His duties at Lander include spearheading the university’s initiatives for student retention – the percentage of students who persist in their efforts to earn a degree.
