MATH LAB SCHEDULE :

Monday -Thursday:  9:00 am - 7:00 pm

Friday:  9:00 - Noon

The Mathematics Lab (LC 346) assists students in all general education mathematics and computer science courses as well as pre-calculus and math-related topics. The lab also helps in preparation for the mathematics portion of the PRAXIS Preprofessional Skills Test (PPST) required of education majors. The Mathematics Lab is located in the Academic Success Center and is open 38-45 hours per week. Students may come on a drop-in basis and be self-referred or referred by faculty. Student attendance is reported to the math faculty on a regualr basis which shows the faculty that you are trying hard to do well.

MATH LAB TUTORS AND RESOURCES:

One or more student assistants are available every scheduled hour. These students are recommended by math faculty and are trained in tutoring techniques and supervised by the lab director.  Study groups are encouraged and review sessions are offered prior to tests upon request from the faculty or the students. Handouts are also available on most topics covered in the math courses previously mentioned. These allow the student to mimic the steps of a process therefore promoting long-term understanding. Tutors will help construct a practice test for major exams to help students prepare for the actual event.  Tutors encourage students to come to do their homework, attend the lab frequently enough to feel comfortable with the tutors, and prepare in advance so that trouble areas can be dealt with effectively.
