Master of Arts with art concentration
Lander University offers a graduate degree program leading to the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree with a concentration in art. While this program is administered by the College of Education, it involves faculty from across the university.

Master of Arts in Teaching (Art)
The student seeking admission to the M.A.T. with a concentration in art education should have:

Transcripts of all college coursework

Undergraduate degree in art from an accredited institution

Minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Three (3) reference forms

Approved content area worksheet
Applicants will also be required to submit a writing sample, interview with major academic area faculty, and offer a studio portfolio in varied media for review.
Admitted students have an intensive, fourteen month program of full-time studies. The M.A.T. program cycle begins once each year in May, with all admissions from the previous year beginning and completing required coursework as a cohort group.
Note: This program is not open to those already certified to teach in S.C. or in any other state.
