As a first-time college student, you may be a little confused about the application process, but don’t worry. At Lander University, we make applying to college simple. Below is more information about Lander admissions and the services we offer to help you complete your application, understand the process, and make a successful transition
to the University.

How to apply as a Freshman:

  • Create an account and complete the online application
  • Pay a $35 application fee
  • Submit your official high school transcript
  • Submit your official SAT or ACT scores
    (SAT code: 5363 / ACT code: 3860)
  • Recommendations are encouraged, but not required
  • Please note that Lander does accept Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) credit
  • Official GED scores from testing center and GED Certificate (if applicable)

Freshman applicants will be evaluated on:

  • High school course pre-requisites
  • High school grade point average
  • Class Rank
  • SAT and/or ACT test scores
  • Extracurricular activities and community involvement
  • GED scores (if applicable)

Freshman applicants will be evaluated on an individual basis on the above criteria. This criterion is used to determine the applicant’s probability of success during their freshmen year. Higher class rank and grades may offset lower SAT or ACT scores and higher examination scores may offset lower class rank and grades.

After Application is Complete:

When will I receive a decision?
Applications are reviewed and decisions are made on a rolling basis. Students typically receive information about their admission status approximately two to three weeks after all materials are received in the Office of Admissions (application, fee, transcripts, and test score).
