Student Support Services TRiO

The Student Support Services program is a federal TRiO grant program designed to help students stay in college, achieve success in their chosen majors and graduate. It also helps facilitate the transition from one level of higher education to the next. The program is intended to provide intensive academic support, tutoring, counseling, and career and cultural enrichment.

The Writing Center

To assist writers in any discipline, the Department of English and Foreign Languages offers free tutorial services in its Writing Center, located in the university’s Carnell Learning Center. Appointments can be scheduled online through Lander’s Tutoring Services portal

Student Retention Programs

The Academic Success Center’s College Seminar 101 helps students develop effective study skills, with a focus on note taking, time management, concentration, study strategies and anxiety management. Additionally, Lander’s Early Alert Program provides immediate feedback from faculty after first tests and quizzes, and identified students are eligible for tutoring, enhanced advisement and study-skills improvement.
