Federal Direct Loan Program
Due to a change in federal regulation, the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) was discontinued on July 1, 2010. This change does not affect your current loans. In accordance with this change in regulation, Lander University has transitioned all Stafford Student Loans and Parent (PLUS) Loans to the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program effective with the fall 2010 semester. This means funding comes directly to Lander from the federal government rather than be funded by various lenders. The Stafford Student Loan is now the Federal Direct Student Loan and the Parent PLUS Loan is the Federal Direct PLUS Loan, only the source of funding and the servicer of the loans have changed.
