Lander University will offer a Chinese language course as part of its fall Continuing Education lineup. The instructor will be Chen Xiaohong, a visiting scholar from Shanghai Normal University in China, who is spending the current academic year working in Lander's Student Affairs Office.

Lander University is accepting applications for its summer continuing education courses, the first of which will begin late in May and continue through August. Coordinator Shelley Grund said there are more than two dozen courses on the schedule, plus five professional development offerings and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) preparation classes for high school students. Because of their popularity, some courses have limits on enrollment.

Lander University recently honored its cocurricular standouts for the 2010-11 academic year, presenting student life awards to the university's top students and student organizations. The awards were announced during Lander's annual Academic and Student Life Awards Ceremony.
