The new Lander University Honors College is a community of bright, engaged students and dynamic, nurturing faculty members. New and continuing Lander students with strong academic records can apply.
As a member of the Honors College, you have access to small-group seminars that promote active learning and deep reflection. In the introductory course, you will explore a special topic in the arts and humanities, take an overnight fieldtrip, and connect with classmates who share your enthusiasm for learning. The experience forges the confidence and travel skills you need for big accomplishments — such as international study, academic conferences and high-profile internships — you might seek out later.
Most Honors seminars fulfill general education requirements for any major, so you’ll connect with students from across campus while building credit toward graduation. The Honors College supports your strengths and interests: You’ll have choices about which courses to take, and you can even partner with a faculty member to design a special tutorial.
