If you are already a registered nurse who graduated from a diploma or associate degree program and you would like to advance your degree, Lander University has an accredited, online R.N. to B.S.N. completion option.

The R.N. to B.S.N. completion option is offered in an online format, meaning you can access classes at any time of the day and participate in clinical experiences close-to-home. Your learning experiences will center on community health, leadership, management and research – preparing you for a successful career in health care or graduate study. There will also be plenty of opportunities for you to interact with faculty and fellow students.

The R.N. to B.S.N. curriculum

The R.N. to B.S.N. completion option features a practical, Web-based delivery. You can access classes at any time of day while acquiring professional-level knowledge and skills to practice nursing in traditional and diverse settings. You’ll also be prepared to enter graduate study in nursing and related fields.

You will need a total of 126 semester hours to graduate from Lander’s nursing program, with at least 32 hours of total semester credit earned through instruction by Lander. A minimum of 12 semester hours in required nursing courses must also be earned through Lander University.

Required nursing courses
As an R.N. to B.S.N. major, your required nursing courses will include: Enhanced Physical Assessment for RN’s; Research; Professional Transition/RN; Leadership and Management; Community Health Nursing; Professional Development in Nursing; Pathophysiology; and Wellness for Life. Nursing electives are also offered online.

General education courses
In order to round out your bachelor’s degree in nursing, you’ll supplement your nursing courses with a diverse assortment of general education courses, from fine arts, literature and history to math, political economy and laboratory science. You can take these classes on campus at Lander – or you can transfer credit from an approved college or university to satisfy these requirements.

On-campus orientation
An on-campus orientation is required for all students beginning the RN-BSN online option. The all-day orientation is normally held the week before the start of classes.

Admission and Progression Policies

  1. Complete Lander University admission process (Admission Website). Transfer credit from previous schools will be evaluated. You Must Complete The Lander University Admission Process Prior to Applying to the RN-BSN Option
  2. Complete Admission to RN-BSN Option application (Application for Admission to the RN-BSN Option) and submit to Department of Nursing.
