Instructor of Biology

Lander University, a public comprehensive university in the Upstate region of South Carolina, seeks qualified candidates to teach introductory-level Biology lectures and labs. This is a continuing, non-tenure-track appointment. Starting date for the position is August 17, 2015.

Required qualifications: Minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. An M.S. in Biology is preferred and is desirable and is required to teach lectures. Qualified candidates will have demonstrable skills in instruction and biology laboratories skills, including the use of computer technology to support such instruction.

Responsibilities include teaching introductory Biology lectures and introductory Biology laboratories, primarily for non-majors, and supervising student workers who assist with laboratory set-up, and academic advising. The position could possibly include teaching other laboratories in Anatomy, Physiology, or Microbiology depending on background of the candidate and needs of the department.
