Athletic Training Program Director and Assistant Professor
Entry Level Masters Program in Athletic Training
Department of Physical Education & Exercise Studies


Lander University, a public state-supported institution in South Carolina, seeks to fill a full-time, 12-month, tenure track position at the assistant professor level in Athletic Training/Exercise Science, to begin in August of 2015.

Responsibilities include: directing Lander’s entry level masters degree program in athletic training; serving as an integral member of the athletic training education program; developing curriculum; writing for and assisting with accreditation reviews; evaluating/supervising students in the clinical setting; mentoring professional development of the students; assisting in student recruitment. Additionally, some teaching of biomechanics/kinesiology (undergraduate level) required.

Required: A minimum of a masters degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science or related area.

Minimum qualifications: BOC, Inc. certification as an athletic trainer in good standing; SC State Certified Athletic Trainer or eligible; NATA member in good standing; Master’s degree in athletic training or related field; clinical experience as an athletic trainer; college teaching experience with instructional technologies; demonstrate ability to serve as an Approved Clinical Instructor.

Preferred: Doctoral degree in athletic training or related field; evidence of clinical instruction/supervision of athletic training students; ACSM, NSCA, and NASM certification(s) are strongly desired.
