  • Lander University business student receives Harvley Scholarship

    Lander University business administration major Marina Morgan, right, of Greenwood, has been selected to receive the G. Bonner and Martha B. Harvley Scholarship, established in 1999 by Martha H. Dunlap in honor of her parents, G. Bonner and Martha B. Harvley. Selection for the scholarship, awarded to business administration majors, is based on criteria including character, academic record and recommendation by a high school or college counselor.

  • Lander University business students receive Countybank scholarships

    A group of Lander University business administration majors have been selected to receive Countybank scholarships. Established by the Countybank Board of Directors, the scholarships are awarded to students who are established residents of Greenwood County and who intend to or are majoring in business administration.

  • Lander University business student receives Chang scholarship

    Lander University student Mihajlo Kozjak, of Belgrad, Serbia, a business administration major with economic/finance emphasis, has been selected to receive the Chan Sup Chang Business Scholarship. Established in 2006 as a gift to Dr. Chan Sup Chang by his two sons, Dr. Mark Chang and Dr. David Chang, the scholarship is awarded to Lander business majors who have demonstrated leadership qualities.

  • Grant awarded to help create a computer game as a business education learning tool

    Dr. Charles Stowe, Lander University’s director of Outreach Initiatives and members of the business faculty, has been awarded a grant to pursue creation of a computer game that would simulate real world situations to help college students understand the differences between job functions and industries. Students would use the game to set career goals which, in turn, could boost higher education’s student retention rates. Corporations would also benefit by having access to new data related to consumer purchasing preferences and job recruitment.

    Lander University sociology major Kevin Moxley, of Pendleton, has been awarded the Maybelle Coleman Scholarship honoring Dr. Maybelle Coleman, professor emeritus and former professor and academic dean at Lander. The scholarship is awarded annually to students majoring in sociology.

  • University student receives Bradford scholarship

    Lander University political science major Christopher Ty Grogan, right, of Greenwood, has been selected to receive the Bill and Emily Bradford Scholarship, honoring the late J. William and Emily Bradford. The scholarship was established in 2005 by the Bradfords’ three sons and is designed for students majoring in political science. Grogan is pictured with Dr. Kimberly Richburg, associate professor of political science.

  • Lander University business students receive McFerrin scholarships

    Nine Lander University business administration students have been awarded the Jean T. McFerrin Scholarship, established in 1988 by Jean and Cecil McFerrin. Jean McFerrin, a 1948 Lander graduate, maintained close ties with her alma mater and held numerous positions with the Alumni Association, The Lander Foundation and the Board of Trustees. The scholarships are awarded annually to students majoring in the field of business, and selection criteria include academic merit and leadership potential.
