Lander student receives Rast scholarship

Lander University English student Jesse Timmons of Greenwood is one of the recipients of the Dr. John M. Rast Scholarship, which was established in 1993 in memory of former Lander President, Dr. John M. Rast, by his son and daughter, Carlisle L. Rast and Sue Rast Foy. The scholarship is awarded annually to an entering freshman majoring in an area of liberal arts. Based on merit and financial need, the scholarship is renewable for up to three years. Timmons is a sophomore majoring in English with teacher certification. His favorite area of literature is nonfiction.
