During their first week of summer classes, candidates for Lander University's Master of Arts in Teaching with emphasis in teaching art degree received instruction from South Carolina artist Susan Lenz regarding working with fabric in the classroom. Lenz also demonstrated a model for fostering creativity, extending a topic presented by the MAT students at this year's South Carolina Art Association conference in Greenville. Pictured clockwise, from left, are: Susan Lenz, Meredith Cromley of Saluda, Eric Markievich of Greenville, Shannon Tarlton of Jackson, Rebekah Hinson of Heath Springs, Tinashe Gwata of Harare, Zimbabwe, and Dr. Linda Neely, Lander's coordinator of art education programs. Neely said a new MAT cohort is now forming. For information on the program, contact Neely at 864-388-8225 or lneely@lander.edu.
