Seven Lander University students were honored recently as graduates of the university's Honors International Program (HIP). They are the last group to complete the program whose components have been folded into Lander's new Honors College, which will admit students for the fall semester.

The names of 14 Lander University students will be included in the 2013 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs in the nation.

The next meeting of the Lander University Board of Trustees is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, in the F. Mitchell Johnson Board Room. The Executive Committee will meet at 9 a.m. that day in the Johnson Board Room, and the following standing committees will meet at 10 a.m.

As a high school student considering possible majors, Lander University assistant professor of chemistry Dr. Albert Dukes III had a hard time choosing between chemistry and physics.

Family and friends gathered at Lander University recently to witness the spring induction of 55 students into Lander's Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society.
