Lake Greenwood studied by professionals from Lander and Upstate Forever
A scientific and environmental examination of Lake Greenwood was undertaken recently by a team that included Dr. Austin Trousdale, assistant professor of biology at Lander University, and staff from Upstate Forever, the natural resource conservation group. The purpose of their study was to learn more about the lake.
Lander faculty and student musicians to present a German-themed collage concert
Lander University student and faculty musical ensembles will pool their talents and present a collage concert on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 8 p.m., in the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium.

Lander president underscores efforts to reduce costs for students while upholding program quality
Lander University President Daniel Ball said there are "no silver bullets" for solving problems created by challenging economic times, challenges that include cuts in state aid to colleges and universities. But, he told his annual State of the University audience on Monday, Lander administrators at all levels are continually looking for opportunities to lessen the financial burden on students without sacrificing the quality of programs.
Lander students get a taste of what goes into preparing for a national party convention
Five Lander University political science students and two professors were in Charlotte, N.C., in the days leading up to the Democratic National Convention. It was part of a program organized by Winthrop University's John C. West Forum for Politics and Policy, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving civic engagement. The purpose of the three-day program was to enlighten students about government and politics. Lander was one of 10 institutions of higher education in South Carolina that participated in the event.
